Track Sectors
Rapid 90-degree corners along Republic Boulevard, then through the pit straight complex — heavy braking, very low speeds.
Through the Esplanade and the Sling-shot Turn 13 — a technical mid-section with walls close at every apex.
The Anderson Bridge, Fullerton Road and the final Turn 23 — the only realistic overtaking window on the lap.
About Marina Bay Street
The Marina Bay Street Circuit is the longest race on the calendar by clock time — typically pushing the two-hour maximum — and one of the most physically demanding events of the year. Heat, humidity, high corner counts and near-zero tyre cooling between braking zones produce significant driver weight loss and almost guarantee at least one safety car. Singapore was the first night race in F1 history and remains its most visually distinctive event.
Renault asked Nelson Piquet Jr to deliberately crash to bring out a safety car that benefited team-mate Fernando Alonso. The plot was uncovered a year later in one of F1's biggest cheating scandals.
In wet conditions on lap one, Vettel, Räikkönen and Verstappen tangled at the first corner. Vettel's title hopes against Hamilton effectively ended in that moment.
A wet race delayed by an hour saw Sergio Pérez control the field for the entire 59 laps, even after a five-second penalty. Singapore's most demanding modern win.
