Baku City
Baku City Circuit
Track Sectors
Short run to a 90-degree Turn 1, then long, wide sweeping sections through the lower city — fast but forgiving.
The narrow castle section — the tightest piece of street racing in F1, with walls metres apart and blind, climbing corners.
Flat-out down the 2.2-kilometre main straight, the longest on the calendar — a genuine 330 km/h DRS zone.
About Baku City
The Baku City Circuit is a hybrid: long, wide high-speed sections through the lower city paired with the spectacular castle section where the track narrows to metres-apart walls. The 2.2-kilometre main straight is the longest on the F1 calendar and routinely throws up 330 km/h+ top speeds. Safety cars, late-race chaos and unexpected podiums are baked in.
Two world champions side-by-side behind the safety car at T2. Vettel pulled alongside Hamilton and made wheel contact, drawing a 10-second stop-go and a stewards' summons.
Leading comfortably with the race in hand, Bottas hit debris on the main straight with three laps to go. The puncture handed Hamilton an unexpected win.
Red Bull's commanding lead vanished when Verstappen's left-rear let go on the main straight. At the restart, Hamilton locked up into T1 from second — Pérez inherited the win.
